Alexander McQueen, one of today's most successful designers, was found dead in his house yesterday.  Apparently he hanged himself after being distraught by the death of his mother last week.

He was well known for his mind-bending designs (think: alien shoes!) but also put his mark on other designer houses like Givenchy before selling 51% of his company to Gucci.  His impact on modern fashion has been incredible.

He was only 40 years old and far too young to leave us.

RIP Lee Alexander McQueen.
