Moschino Pre-Fall 2010 Showing Very Thin Models

Woman Within Easy Update Banner

I've just seen the Moschino Pre-Fall 2010 collection and I have two things I really want to say about it:

First of all, the clothes are FANTABULOUS!  Sleek without being minimal, feminine without being flowery...just my kind of clothes.  Beige, black, red with a bit of gold--I am in love.

Buuuuut...while getting excited over the collection and going through the pictures I was shocked to see that they used models that are extremely thin and guant.  I kept finding myself worrying more about the girls they used for the shoot than admiring the clothes.

I'm not one to bash anybody due to their size, whether it be a 00 or 60.  I believe size acceptance means that everyBODY is ok as it is.  But these girls look sick, starving and unhappy.  Is that really the image that Moschino wants to project?  I know they aren't a designer for plus size women, but I do expect them to be a "Plus Size" Designer and not a size  minus 4 like the women here look.

Take a look for yourself.  I would love to hear your thoughts on this issue.

shoes on models

Yes the models are overly skinny. That is hardly worth a comment, even tho it's sad, for the girls & for their future bone structure/osteoporosis.

What truly bothers me is the extremely high shoes I see the girls at my college wearing to be fashionable. they can hardly walk in feminine manner- they have a kind of lurching gait- can I say it out loud? like a bride of Frankenstein lurch- I used to wear 4 inch heels and blew out my knees. 4 inches looks low by the current style trend.

I wish designers would have the courage to make shoes that allow us to move smoothly & safely, AND have some style! Maybe I should take up shoe design!!
